This cosplayer is super amazing, and has even been shared all over for his amazing He-man cosplay. I also found his page from #28daysofblackcosplay and I just appreciate his work so much. He teaches white folks that people should be allowed to cosplay whoever they want and the haters can die mad. I hope you follow and appreciate his work as well!
What are your social medias?
How long have you been cosplaying?
Since Awesome Con 2017. First cosplay was Kratos, The God of War.
What got you into Cosplay?
I went through a divorce and needed a new hobby besides bodybuilding because that was something my ex-wife and I did together. I had been going to conventions but never cosplayed. Figured it was time.
Favourite Costume? Was it bought or made?
All of my cosplays are bought but I modify them in a particular way. Kratos was mainly bodypaint but being a bodybuilding competitor 3 weeks away from a competition, I was able to maximize on the look through training. That one will always be special because it was my first while Sub-Zero is a mainstay and highly recognizable. He-man was the one that seemingly broke barriers and got a collective seal of approval from just about every member of the cosplay community.
What are your goals as a cosplayer?
My goal as a cosplayer is to abolish the idea that a People of Color are can't be mainstream heroes in popular media or culture. Take He-Man for instance.... .....no one thought they wanted a black He-Man animated show or live action movie until I showed them what it could look like in the flesh. I plan on taking that cosplay to PowerCon in Anaheim, CA this year to see if I can affect the change required for the creative minds behind the Netflix She-Ra series to debut a reboot He-Man as a person of color.
Which Cosplayer inspired you to cosplay?
I do not have a cosplayer inspiration though my friend Shirlz Vegas or @Exot1cDynasty on IG has been a solid sounding board for ideas and navigating the cosplay scene since I met her after my Kratos debut.
My dream cosplay would have to be Spawn. He's been my favorite superhero since 1997 and my cosplay name is essentially inspired by the character. It'll be a great day when Hellspawned_cosplay has a Hellspawn cosplay.
Favourite Skill of Cosplay? (Wig work, sewing, armor, etc)
My niche within the cosplay domain is training my body and paying attention to the details of each cosplay I'm putting together. I don't see too many Sub-Zero cosplays with the Dragon Medallion stitched on the tabard and the white eyes to indicate the power boost that came from the item. I just love figuring out the details to make a character pop right off the page or screen and be as tangible as possible.
